ID MobileAccess 2.0 Keeps Bobcat of Fort Wayne On Top

Bobcat of Fort Wayne, Inc., has relied on CDK for its dealership technologies for nearly 15 years, upgrading to IntelliDealer in 2009 and adding ID MobileAccess 1.0 in 2012.

When CDK released ID MobileAccess 2.0, Owner Buddy Funk was ready to implement it. ID MobileAccess 2.0 builds on CDK’s popular mobile dealer management system (DMS) capabilities, and expands with new key features, including Customer Information, Call Scheduling, and Finance Dashboard.

According to Funk, the improvements have made a notable difference in his business.

for Employees on the Road

Today, three departments at Bobcat of Fort Wayne utilize the Customer Information function of ID MobileAccess 2.0. Funk says that the Sales department has been able to streamline its travel and customer visits as a result.

“Because our salespeople may travel a distance to visit a customer, they can view CDK Customer Information and determine which customers are also nearby. This way, instead of making a trip to see a single customer our salespeople can plan out four or five appointments for that day and do their research while on the road. That’s really helpful,” Funk says.

He also notes that Service and Parts department employees are finding their jobs easier, too. “We provide 24-hour service to our customers, so if the driver who’s on call is dispatched he can open ID MobileAccess 2.0 and find out what equipment the customer has, what parts he would need to repair it, and if the parts he needs are in his truck or in the office. All of this can happen without calling our Parts manager, which is working out really well.”

The Call Scheduling feature helps the Bobcat of Fort Wayne Sales department keep on top of a busy schedule. Funk says his team has found Call Scheduling to be more efficient and easier to use than other solutions designed to help salespeople manage their time. “It’s simple to open the mobile app, schedule appointments and set reminders to stay on track throughout the day,” says Funk.

ID MobileAccess 2.0 Offers Finance Dashboard

Funk, who took over as owner of Bobcat of Fort Wayne in July 2013, said he took his first vacation recently. But with ID MobileAccess 2.0, he was still able to keep his finger on the pulse of the store. “Every afternoon, I could open the CDK app and get a snapshot of what was happening in the store. I didn’t need a lot of specifics, just an overview, but that was enough information. Although I was a day’s drive away, I was alerted to issues without having to call in. That keeps me aware of what’s going on in my store. CDK did a very good job with this dashboard,” Funk concludes.
