System to Offer More Powerful Features and Greater Business Insights for Heavy Equipment Dealerships

HOUSTON, Texas – January 17, 2014 – CDK unveiled today a preview of IntelliDealer Insight, an enhanced version of its leading dealer management software for heavy equipment dealerships. The software, introduced at the construction industry show CONDEX 2014, offers new tools designed to increase productivity and deliver more in-depth analysis across a dealership’s entire operation.

“With better access to data across the enterprise, dealers have an opportunity to gain new insights about their business,” said Frank DeDecker, director of product management & market relations. “IntelliDealer Insight will provide a more integrated approach to business analysis and operational improvement.”

The enhanced business system, available in June 2014, will offer a range of new features in the areas of analytics and productivity, and will be complemented by a number of CDK business tools designed to help dealerships increase business efficiency. Customers can also pair the system with ID MobileAccess 2.0, CDK’s recently released best-in-class mobile dealership management application.

Advanced Analytics
In an effort to help its dealers outperform the industry, one of IntelliDealer Insight’s key features will be its new Advanced Analytics application. Advanced Analytics will be integrated with the dealer management system’s current performance monitoring dashboards and existing analytic tools.

“We believe that analytics presents a powerful opportunity to identify new revenue opportunities, drive product innovation and uncover areas for improvement,” said DeDecker. “We are being very purposeful in making analytics play a more important role in our system.”

Advanced Analytics will add customizable reporting across business functions, cross tabulation and a range of graphing features. Dealers will be able to dive into department specific data through new interfaces built into existing departmental listing screens. One of the more sophisticated features that will be offered is heat mapping. The heat mapping visualization feature uses color and the size of data points to make multi-dimensional reports easier to interpret.

Improved Productivity
For improved productivity, IntelliDealer Insight will feature recently developed product bundles for Service and Equipment that are designed to improve workflow and simplify dealer operations.

Another new tool is the Equipment Margin Worksheet which is now being piloted to help dealers manage and track margin throughout the sales cycle. The Equipment Margin Worksheet is intended to provide better visibility into the sales channel and help provide more accurate information for decision making.

Dealers will also be able to improve productivity through Alert Management 2.0, an application which allows for automated communication via text or email between dealership departments or between dealership departments and customers. For example, the application can be used to notify customers and dealership employees when a special order part is available or when a warranty is nearing expiration.

To complement the new productivity features, CDK recently introduced Dealer IT Solutions, a managed IT solution designed to help IT departments with daily operational needs so they can focus on technology-related growth and productivity efforts.

New Business Tools
In additional to demonstrating its expanded mobile capabilities for dealership personnel, CDK also announced that it will extend its mobile capabilities to heavy equipment dealership customers. IntelliDealer Insight users will have the option of adding a mobile application that enables customers to access their account and communicate with the dealership via mobile devices. The service will be available as part of a bundled offering with CDK’s current MyDealer Access application, a web-based portal.

In addition to enhanced mobile capabilities, IntelliDealer Insight will feature hundreds of enhancements to its existing features to improve functionality and performance. These improvements include improved user screen displays, a simplified partial parts ordering and parts transfer process, as well as improved work order and quote synchronization features.
