HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – July 30, 2015 – – CDK Global, Inc. ("CDK Global" and "CDK") (Nasdaq: CDK) announced today the launch of a brand new interface for Komatsu America (KAC) dealers, which makes OEM factory campaign details easily available right from the CDK Dealer Management System (DMS). Created for CDK Global Heavy Equipment dealers, the Factory Campaigns interface will provide fast access to essential OEM equipment data, allowing dealerships to quickly recognize known issues for specific units. When a unit is brought in for repair, Service employees can search by a unit’s serial number to identify if any potential problems exist and need to be fixed.
"We know that our Komatsu partners rely on our solutions to run their businesses every day, and it is a responsibility we do not take lightly," said Lloyd Farnsworth, Vice President and General Manager of CDK Heavy Equipment. "We are constantly striving to optimize Komatsu workflows for productivity, efficiency and profitability through our innovative solutions. Our cutting-edge interface, Factory Campaigns, is another example of how we use our passion, expertise and scale to deliver what our dealers want and need."
In CDK Heavy Equipment’s IntelliDealerTM Insight DMS, factory campaign details show in the following places:
Factory campaign details are stored in the dealer's files library, and an initial load is pulled from a Komatsu server of all factory campaigns. From that point on, incremental changes are pulled daily from that same server. Dealers can also request a complete load refresh, if necessary.
Komatsu America is very excited about the new interface and looks forward to the value it will provide to its dealers. In a recent statement, Komatsu America said:
"Distributors taking advantage of this new interface will receive factory campaign data in a systematic daily process, ensuring they have the most current information for managing all aspects of our factory campaigns. Factory campaign data linked within the CDK system improves efficiencies and ultimately allows distributors to better serve their customers. For Open Factory Campaigns, dealers will no longer need to go to the KAC Extranet, and for Closed Factory Campaigns – of less than 60 days – dealers will have that information stored in the CDK system."
Long time CDK dealer and one of the first to use the new interface, Pine Bush Equipment Co., Inc., has already seen improvements in their Service department.
"Using the Factory Campaign interface in our Service department has become a go-to tool when opening work orders," said George Varianides, Information System Manager of Pine Bush Equipment Co., Inc. "Instantly seeing open campaigns on a unit makes scheduling the work easy, and including the service with existing work saves time and money for us and the customer. CDK and Komatsu have done a great job on this collaboration!" For more information, visit cdkglobal.com/heavyequipment.
